Retired Addl. Development Commissioner of the Government of Nagaland, Dr. Temsuwati today declared his candidature for the 27th Mokokchung Town Assembly Constituency in the forthcoming Nagaland Assembly Election which is expected to be held in the next couple of months. A host of supporters and well-wishers attended the formal declaration programme which was held at Aongza Ward, Mokokchung town. However, Dr. Temsuwati, who was a top bureaucrat in the state government, did not disclose the political party from which he would be contesting and instead, asked the gathered supporters to tell him from which party to contest “and he would listen to them”. Impressing upon the gathering that he had always aspired to serve the public, Dr. Temsuwati said that he had resolved to contest in the forthcoming election with two agendas in mind. “I stand for development and employment…only two manifestoes,” he said. “Where there is no development, there is no circulation of money,” he asserted and vowed to work for seeking employment opportunities for the educated youths in the constituency. Employment does not only mean government jobs but the harnessing of one’s talent, polishing it and using it gainfully for one’s own self-sustenance, Dr. Temsuwati said. As a former bureaucrat with vast experience about development works, Dr. Temsuwati asked the voters, “I aspire to play a big role in the Nagaland Legislative Assembly… Why not give me a chance?”
