Dy CM Patton visits Mon landslide sites, assures restoration support

Dy CM Patton visited the areas in Mon town affected by the July 19 landslide, including Defence Colony, Thamnan Ward and Techa Ward on August 14.

Mon, August 14 (MExN): Deputy Chief Minister (Home & Border Affairs) Yanthungo Patton on Friday visited the areas in Mon town affected by the July 19 landslide, including Defence Colony, Thamnan Ward and Techa Ward.

The Dy CM was accompanied by Advisor Sethrongkiu Sangtam, MLAs Naiba Konyak, Limaonen Chang and Manpon Konyak, ADGP Renchamo Kikon and IGP VZ Angami.

 

During a short briefing meeting at Mon DC’s conference hall, Patton stated that the incident was a very “unfortunate natural disaster.” He assured that with all possible assistance from the government, they will support for restoration of Mon, stated a DIPR report. 

He stated that whatever verification reports sent by the Administration, Police, DDMA and Civil Societies, the State Government will approach the central Government for early restoration. 

Appealing the people not to believe in any “unverified or unofficial news circulated in social media,” he said the State Government and the Central team had visited and verified the spot, they all assured to help you out. 

 

Patton also expressed his gratitude to all the rescue teams led by District Administration, Police headed by SP, SDRF Mon, KU, KNSK, KSU, volunteers for their noble sacrifices.

Earlier, DC Mon, Wennyei Konyak, chaired a brief briefing meeting at the DC’s Conference Hall and presented a video clip of the disaster.
