Mokokchung, October 7 (MExN): Dilong Youth Association (DYA) triumphed over Tongpang Ruju Club 5-1 in an exciting match at the ongoing MDFA trophy 2016 at Imkongmeren Sports Complex here today. With today’s win, DYA has registered two wins in the tournament and has emerged as one of the strongest teams in the trophy. The first goal for DYA came through the boots of Temjenmeren (Jersey No 11) at the 33rd minute through a spectacular long shot that went directly into the nets. However the celebration was short-lived as Tongpang Ruju Club counter-attacked at Retsungyongdang (Jersey No 4) equalized the score in the 36th minute. The second half was dominated by DYA as Bendangsunep (Jersey No 10) scored the second goal for Dilong in the 56th minute. DYA striker Yhunshalu scored two goals in the 60th and 68 minutes; while Temjenmeren again scored his second goal in the 66th minute thereby sealing the fate of the Tongpang Ruju Club. Earlier in the first match of the day, Elation SA defeated Mongolian FC 2-0. The goals for Elation SA was scored by Bendangmeren (Jersey No 21) in the 38 minute while his teammate, Chubayanger (Jersey No 8) scored the second goal for Elation in the 47th minute. With this second win for Elation in the tournament, it is wondered with Elation SA would emerge as the dark-horse and a team to be reckoned with in the next matches. In the last and final match of the trophy, Grasshoppers defeated Tongdenyong SC 3-1. Saturday, October 8 matches.
