
Our Correspondent Kohima | March 4 Dziesielatuo Keretsu representing Northern Angami Sports Association (NASA) today emerged as champion of the Angami Sports Association (ASA) golden jubilee wrestling tournament here today at Kohima Local Ground. The 29 year old from Kohima Village downed the formidable Menuosietuo Yiese, also from Kohima Village, to emerge with the coveted championship title. He pocketed cash prize of Rs. 2.50 lakh while the 18-year old Yiese representing NASA pocketed Rs. 1.50 lakh. Keretsu who stands 5’11 and weighs 112 kg beat Zasituo Tsiikrii from Dihoma village in the quarters and went on to defeat Petekuolie Nipu in the semifinals. Yiese, who stands 6 feet tall and weighs 93 kg, found the semifinal berth after defeating Kezhavizo Thevo (NASA) in the quarters before overpowering Rovilhulie Pier in the semis. 19-year old Petekuolie Nipu, representing Western Angami Sports Association (WASA) from Sechii Zubza bagged the third position while Rovilhulie Pier (26 years) of Khonoma village, representing WASA bagged fourth. The third and fourth position winners were awarded Rs. 1 lakh and Rs. 80,000 respectively. Losing quarter finalists Seketuokho Nipu (WASA), Kezhavizo Thevo (NASA), Rokokhrielie Senotsu (WASA) and Zasituo Tsiikrii (NASA) awarded Rs. 10,000 each.
