Dzuvichu clan rejects verdict

Dimapur, December 19 (MExN): Dzuvichu clan has rejected the verdict of the ADC (J) Dimapur on the murder case of Vincent Dzuvichu. The clan alleged that that the murder case was disposed off “on an incomplete charge-sheet.” The clan has reminded of its expired deadline served to the government and has stated that it would now take an own course of action.

A note from the clan stated that statements of vital witnesses were not included by the investigating agency and without taking to consideration the numerous representations made by the bereaved family and clan since July this year. “The clan questions the failure of the Director General of Police and the state government including the Home Minister of Nagaland in referring the case to the Central Bureau of Investigation for a free, fair, impartial and unbiased inquiry into late Vincent’s death as per the request of the bereaved family the Dzuvichu clan” the clan stated.

The clan reiterated that the whole investigation was “incomplete, biased and partial in order to cover the involvement of other leading suspects involved in the crime along with Bendang.” The clan also condemned what it alleged was the unwarranted harassment of the bereaved family by the investigating agency. This was because the loopholes and discrepancies in the investigation for the past five months were questioned, the clan stated. “The Dzuvichu clan has resolved that on the expiry of the deadline given to the government on the 10th December 2007, it will now take its own course of action” it stated.
