Trophy for overall champion presented to Sainik School East Siang.

PUNGLWA, APRIL 30 (MExN): Sainik School Punglwa, Nagaland, hosted the Group E Intra-Sainik Schools Football Championship 2025 from April 26 to 30, bringing together five Sainik Schools from across North East India.
Participating institutions included Sainik Schools from Punglwa, Imphal, Goalpara, Chhingchhip, and East Siang. The tournament featured three categories: Under-17 Boys, Under-17 Girls, and Under-15 Boys.
The championship culminated with a closing ceremony on April 30, highlighted by the final match of the Under-17 Boys’ category between Sainik School East Siang and Sainik School Imphal. A spirited performance by both teams saw East Siang edge past Imphal with a 2–1 win.
Following the match, cadets from all five schools presented a colourful cultural programme celebrating the rich traditions and diversity of the North Eastern region. A synchronized march-past by all participating contingents further showcased the discipline and camaraderie that define the Sainik School ethos.
Medals and trophies were awarded by the Principal of Sainik School Punglwa, who also lauded the cadets for their sportsmanship and unity. Sainik School East Siang emerged as the overall champions, sweeping all three categories—Under-17 Boys, Under-17 Girls, and Under-15 Boys.
In his address, the chief guest congratulated the winners for their exemplary performance and announced that Sainik School East Siang will represent Group E at the All India Sainik Schools Football Championship, scheduled to be held at Sainik School Bhubaneswar, Odisha. The national winners will further earn the opportunity to represent the Sainik Schools in the prestigious Subroto Cup.
