\Wokha, August 1 (MExN): Wokha district sensitization workshop on Measles Rubella Vaccination Campaign for Education/ICDS department was held on July 31 at the conference hall of the Deputy Commissioner’s office here. Deputy Commissioner Dr. Manazir Jeelani Samoon (IAS) in his speech encouraged consultative meetings with DEOs and CDPOs, stating meticulous planning with the line departments are needed for the success of the campaign. According to a press release from Mhonbeni Ezung, Media Officer, NHM Wokha, he stressed on the need for the Village Council Chairmen and pastors to be involved for proper implementation at the village level.
Resource person Dr. Archana Gayen, SMO, WHO spoke on the objective of the workshop, MR country update, elimination strategies, epidemiology and rationale for MR campaign, basic strategic & operational plans, micro planning, roles & responsibilities of various departments for MRVC.
Dr. Khelito Zhimomi, DPO (RCH/UIP) spoke on planning recording, reporting and monitoring tools, roll out plan with timelines and other guidelines, AEFI treatment/ management, and organizing vaccination session sites, including injection safety and waste management. Importance of FAQs, including Routine Immunization Advocacy Communication and Social Mobilization, was also emphasised.
