Eight teams to compete in Nagaland Women Futsal League

The fixture for the 2nd Nagaland Women Futsal League 2026 was drawn on May 9 at the office of the Nagaland Football Association (NFA) in Kohima.

A total of eight teams will compete for the championship title in the tournament, which is scheduled to be held from May 11 to 13 at the Indira Gandhi Stadium.

NFA president K Neibou Sekhose said the tournament is being organised by the Department of Youth Resources & Sports, Government of Nagaland, in collaboration with the NFA.

He informed that the opening ceremony would take place on May 11 at 5 pm at the Indira Gandhi Stadium, Kohima.

Zhothisa Dawhuo, Secretary of the Women Resource Development Department, Government of Nagaland, will grace the opening ceremony as the special guest.

Roko Angami, Officer on Special Duty (OSD), Department of Youth Resources & Sports, Government of Nagaland, said the champion team would receive a cash prize of Rs 60,000, while the second and third-placed teams would receive Rs 50,000 and Rs 40,000 respectively.

He added that individual awards would also be presented in categories including Best Player, Best Goalkeeper, Top Scorer, Most Valuable Player and Best Disciplined Team.

Anthony Ngullie, Secretary of the Department of Youth Resources & Sports, Government of Nagaland, will attend the closing ceremony on May 13.

The teams have been divided into two groups.

Group A: Kohima Red Tigresses, Pink Panthers Kohima, Puiteing FC Jalukie Town and SC Nagaland.

Group B: United Girls Kohima, SFS Football Academy Medziphema, Brave Cubs Kohima and Football Plus Jalukie.
