Mokokchung, January 20 (DIPR): An Elderly Care Home to provide a real home to elderly people of Sungratsu village and its surrounding areas was inaugurated at Sungratsu village under Mokokchung district on January 18. The elderly care home sponsored by Aonglar Women Welfare Society was inaugurated by MLA Dr. Imtiwapang.
Dr. Imtiwapang, in his speech, lauded the Aonglar Women Welfare society for ‘marvelous job’ for the welfare of elderly people. He said the concern shown to elderly people by setting up a home for them would further encourage others to follow their footstep. Dr. Imti said aged people, many of whom are experiencing boredom of being alone and often face exclusion from social activities, would find themselves active in their new home, as they would have opportunity to interact with each other. He called upon the participants to realize the great responsibility of extending due concern towards elderly people.
Director Social Welfare, Khevito Shohe, in his speech, called upon the people to respect elderly people as they are gems in our society. Rajesh IAS, SDO (C) Mokokchung and Village Council Chairman, Sungratsu also spoke on the occasion. Director, Social Welfare, Khevito T Shohe, IGP, Nagaland, Bendang Lemtur, IPS, Rajesh, IAS, SDO (C) Mokokchung, government officials and others, attended the inaugural function, among others.
