Emotive Strings: The Journey Of Emotions will be happening on September 27, 6:30 pm at Hotel Acacia, Dimapur.
This was informed at a press conference here today at RS Academia of Music performance (RSAMP), Dimapur by Director of Musik-A events Alobo Naga who was joined by Director of RSAMP Asin Shürhozelie, Principal Violinist Nourhe Khate and Artistic Director Nise Meruno.
Slated to be the third edition, Emotive Strings is an event of classical music, the brainchild of Nourhe Khate, an exceptionally talented young violinist and guitarist which started in 2017.
Interacting with media fraternity, Khate viewed that with all kinds of genres already thriving well in the state, he felt the need to create awareness and inspire the younger generation to pursue classical music especially Strings.
With the help of Symphony Academy of Music, Kohima, the first edition was organized at Kohima which was a huge success.
After the second successful edition held in Jotsoma this summer, Khate said he wanted the people of Dimapur to witness quality music with family and friends.
The event, meant to be a classy affair of young elite crowd who loves quality music, Alobo Naga invited people including families to come and have a good time.
Nise Meruno will be another big act of the evening supporting Khate.
Meruno said that people have a wrong notion that classical music is boring, “but it can be fun and palatable for anybody who likes good music.”
The other supporting artistes include Thunglamo Ngullie, Asin Shürhozelie, Neilhoukholie Chielie & The Cantamus Choir.
The artistes, Meruno said are all handpicked to create a beautiful musical experience which will hopefully sow a seed in the hearts of the listeners, curating a wonderful repertoire to cater to everyone.
With “String players still very less in the region,” Khate has a vision to create further awareness and to inspire younger generations to pursue quality music through this concert.
RS Academia of Music Performance, ADL planners, Symphony Academy of Music, Kohima are supporting the event, powered by Musik-A events.
The event’s repertoire will be classified into three categories – Sacred (Gospel), Classical and Contemporary Music.
The repertoire will also include three of Meruno’s original piece.
Meanwhile, the organizers said the event will be held purely out of their own pockets. We’d like to be self sufficient and independent, all for the love of music, they said.
While there will be no particular dress code for the event, the organizers said one would be expected to dress up in formals, as a way of bringing refinement in the society. Limited tickets are priced at Rs 2,000 (admit two). To know more about the event, organizers can be contacted at +919856863879.
