Dimapur, October 1 (MExN): Office bearers of the NPF in the 58 Shamator-Chessore Assembly Constituency have resigned en masse from primary and active membership of the party.
A decision to this effect was taken after thorough deliberations with all the frontal wings, advisers and representatives of Tuensang division at Shamator Headquarter on September 28, a press release informed on Friday.
In the meeting, the party thoroughly deliberated on matters pertaining to the upcoming bye-election which is scheduled to be held on October 30. As such, the party office bearers unanimously decided to tender en masse resignation from primary and active membership of the party (NPF) with immediate effect and joined NDPP on September 30 to support R Tohanba who also resigned on September 28 to join the NDPP, the release stated.
Meanwhile, in another release, the NPF units in 60 Pungro-Kiphire Assembly Constituency informed that members from various women and youth wings and village units of Pungro, Molongmeka and Khongsa have resigned from both primary and active membership “due to unavoidable circumstances.”
“The members have decided to resign from NPF and extend unconditional support under the visionary and dynamic leadership of T Yangseo Sangtam, MLA and Chairman DPDB Kiphire,” the release stated.
