ENCSU questions NSEE selection process

Dimapur, August 16 (MExN): The Eastern Nagaland College Students' Union (ENCSU) has expressed concern on the Department of Technical Education’s recent selection process for the Nagaland State Entrance Examination (NSEE) for the academic session of 2020-2021.

In a press release on August 16, the ENCSU Media Cell said it was “taken by surprise” as no prior notification was given to aspirant candidates.

“The Department could have notified in advance and should not have troubled the aspirants collecting examination fees and forms through online if they are not to conduct the same,” it said.

The ENCSU said that it is “totally aware” of the current pandemic situation in the state, but however, viewed that “it is ethically and morally wrong to abuse the situation and take undue advantage of the situation” as the Department can still conduct online examinations. It also pointed out that there are students who do not continue their degree courses and opt for coaching classes just to appear the NSEE. "They deserve a fair chance and opportunity,” it said.

Further, the ENCSU questioned how the department plans to compensate these students who have wasted another year and the basis on which the academic marks percentages were set and requested the state Government to immediately intervene and bring the justice to students before admissions are completed.
