ENPO warns against violence

Dimapur, February 5 (MExN): The Eastern Nagaland People’s Organization sends out a strong and clear warning, to all underground factions and tribal communities, against resorting to violence. The ENPO referred to the latest upsurge in factional killings and communal unrest, implied to be in the “eastern areas.” The ENPO states serious concern over events following the December 18, 2007 summit resolutions taken in Tuensang.

The ENPO in a note reminded that the summit was representative of various factions who were endorsed by their respective higher-ups. Reminding to honor the “dominant focal point” of the resolutions, the ENPO cautioned against acting contrary to what is said. The organization stated that the “uncomfortable development” may prove a hindrance as had been in the past. The ENPO sends out a strong reminder that any contradiction to the resolutions “may not prove to be the best yardstick, the standard and the choice available for the measurement of peace and a united honorable march towards the final Naga solution.”
