ENSA issue directives concerning Nagas living in Myanmar side

Dimapur, May 26 (MExN): Eastern Naga Students' Association (ENSA) executive meeting was held on May 21, 2016 at treasure's residence, Dimapur. The meeting was attended by ENSA executives, advisory board and students.  

During the meeting, the house thoroughly observed and discussed on education field and development issues in Eastern Nagaland (Myanmar). While acknowledging and appreciating sponsors, guardians and individuals who are helping in imparting quality educations to the eastern Nagas, the Association has notified that some people (both donors and recipients) are taking advantage of Nagas living in Myanmar side of the arbitrary boundary. 

ENSA president Reego Shonshei Tangshang and General Secretary Jüvsangthong S. Makury stated that “Eastern Naga Students' Association (ENSA) is the only civil body to represent the Nagas of Myanmar in present state, Nagaland.”  

The Association urge and inform that nobody should asks sponsorship without the prior information and knowledge of ENSA, be it be from state government, individuals or any institutions in the name of  Nagas of Myanmar. The Association has requested to the federating units viz. Tangshang, Khiamniungan, Konyak, Makury, Tangkhul (Somra), Lainong and Para to take serious note of the students who comes from eastern Nagaland (Myanmar) that “nobody shall be allowed to stay in someone's place without any purpose as such people are the ones who are involved in indecent acts, effecting and spoiling the good image of students who comes with sole purpose to learn and obtain education and mould career.”  

“Number of cases has been reported and observed and if found out such again, the Association will take serious action according to situations,” the note added.  

ENSA has also stated that “some guardians are keeping students more or less like slaves, just as domestic helpers at home with consecutive threatening and lacking basic needs which discourage students to precede further studies, as a result, they become the agents of corruptions in our society.”  

ENSA therefore, urge upon the respective tribes' representatives to play an active role. Sponsors and guardians are also requested to continue the good work in helping and educating the students in positive spirit.
