Dimapur, Dec 1 (MExN): Taking cognizance of reports of certain individuals and societies raising funds in the name of Naga Baptist Convention and ‘eastern’ Nagas of Myanmar, the Eastern Naga Students Association (ENSA) has cautioned the Naga public to be aware of the matter and contact the association for verification.
“We are sorry to mention that there are some individuals, societies and church organization even taking the name NBCM or ‘eastern Nagas’ try to get help from others particularly here in Nagaland, whereby the matter is within individual, single church or tribe” an appeal from ENSA President Mankhat Konyak and General Secretary Y Khomong Khiamniungan. To avoid any confusion the ENSA urged all Naga citizens, particularly those who are “mission-minded” towards ‘eastern Nagas’, to contact Vice President or Advisor at 9436219570/9436266867 if approached by any individuals or organizations/societies or in the name of NBCM “so that your mission will not go futile”.
“We are not after the money or power but to know whether the matter is through proper channel or not. Taking our weakness as advantage, people try to earn livelihood. This is not our culture and goal though we are not economically stable as others” the association stated.
