ENSF envisions better society through edu tour

TUENSANG, OCT 16 (DIPR): The Eastern Nagaland Students’ Federation (ENSF), began an educational tour and career guidance seminar at Tuensang on October 13. This seminar is to be conducted in all the federating unit headquarters including Kiphire, Shamator, Noklak, Tuensang, Mon and Longleng under the theme “Set Your Priority Right”. The tour programme is led by ENSF President YP Chillio and General Secretary, P Metha Konyak.

The resource persons for the seminars are Likhase Sangtam, lecturer of Lumami NU Department of Political Science and Kaikho Khiamniungan, member of Life Ministries and Manager, of Dimori Cove, who spoke on the topics ‘goal setting and how to achieve it’ and ‘quality education and its relevance to employment opportunities’ respectively. Kaikho spoke on the theoretical aspects of setting one’s goal by prioritizing one’s area of interest and talent while Likhase spoke on the political aspects of how to go about choosing one’s area of interest. He elaborated on how to choose specific subjects of study for one’s choice of profession.

The interactive session gave the students an opportunity to ask queries like how to get into administrative jobs, how to get into engineering colleges, how to be self employed, how to become political leaders etc. Around 1000 students from Class VIII to XII from various schools attended the seminar. Encouraged from seeing the overwhelming response not only from the students but the general public, the ENSF has urged the government to give more importance to such kinds of seminars so that NGOs and the government together can create awareness which would ultimately lead to building a better future for the youths of the state.

The aims and objectives of the educational tour and career guidance programme is to make a comprehensive study of educational scenario in the home districts of eastern Nagaland and give assistance to the students’ community to make right choices in their academic pursuits. An educational tour and career guidance seminar will be conducted at Mon on October 17 and Longleng on October 19 respectively.
