Tuensang, June 9 (MExN): Following the demand made by the people of Tobu and Mopung Area for establishment of SBI branch at Tobu, the Eastern Naga Students’ Federation (ENSF) has also extended unbending supports since the demand itself qualifies every criteria established under the Indian constitution or an act/policy passed by the parliament.
The Federation appealed to the State Government to immediately address the needs of banking for the remote area of Mon District without delay.
While agreeing with the statement of justification endorsed by various public organization of the region, the Federation also strongly opined that it is feasible and of utmost necessity to immediately set up SBI Branch at Tobu which covers Tobu ADC HQ, Muknyakshu SDO (civil) HQ and Mopung EAC HQ. Apart from those administrative conveniences, the entire populace of the region should also be made to avail banking facilities and avenues at their door step, the federation contended.
ENSF General Secretary Honang M Jessuhu in a press release said that state Government should ardently appeal the concern agency whereby the meeting minutes passed during the SLBC meeting dated June 22, 2015 should be materialized by this financial year end.
It should be noted that when all the policies of the central Government is being targeted in streamlining all system through banks, the concern SBI incharge of the region should not hesitate but instead foster on with its expansionist minds and avenues to the far flung unreached and least privileged citizen of the country.
The main reason for the involvement of the Federation in setting up the bank is also to facilitate the school students in the region whereby only through bank, they can avail their scholarship. Thousands of students in the remote eastern region face untold inconveniences for acquiring even their sanctioned scholarship under the Ministry of Minority affairs/Tribal Affair, it stated.
Therefore, in order to bridge people’s aspiration to the well established law of the land, the Federation appealed to both the state government and the AGM, SBI, RBO Mokokchung to sincerely uphold people’s demand by setting up the bank in the region without delay.
