Jalukie, March 17 (MExN): A one-day Entrepreneurship awareness programme was organized by MSME Development Institute Dimapur, Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium enterprises, Government of India in collaboration with Business Association of Nagas (BAN) and District Industries Centre at St Xavier College, Jalukie on March 17.

The programme attended by entrepreneurs and students deliberated on PMEGP loan, MSME schemes and financial literacy besides sharing of success stories and business opportunities by entrepreneurs, BAN stated in a press release. 

Speaking at the inaugural programme EAC Jalukie Wangan Phom said that jobs in the government is saturated and youth have to now take up entrepreneurship or find jobs in the private sector.

Functional Manager, District industries centre Alum Zeliang said that he was looking for innovate projects from youth applying for PMEGP loan. He asked them to study the local market and look for opportunities instead of copying other people’s ideas. He cited some opportunities in Peren like chilli achaar, mango jam and ginger processing, bee keeping, production of cattle, poultry feed, organic fertilizers etc. 

Other speakers at the programme include MSME-DI Joint Director Tali Longchar, SBI branch manager Jalukie Saurav Sharma, President Jalukie town traders union Namren Kenn and BAN executive member Achen Imchen.

BAN General Secretary Dr Yan Murry was the moderator of the programme while Administrator St. Xavier College Rev Fr Solomon Kevishe offered the invocation prayer.
