Entrepreneurship training programme held in Yezashi village

A one-day entrepreneurship training programme on banana chips making, poultry farming and pickle making was organised by Krishi Vidya Kendra (KVK) and Farmers Producers Organisation (FPO) Zunheboto in collaboration with the Yezashi Students' Union at Yezashi village on February 25. 

Dr Rakesh Kumar Chaurasia, Principal Scientist and Head of KVK NU Lumami, in his address, mentioned that KVK is a farm science center initiated in 2007 to train farmers through vocational training courses. He stressed that, to solve a problem, we first need to understand it, which will help address unemployment through technology transfer agencies. He further emphasised that an integrated farming system could have a significant impact, generating yearly income, and assured that they would do their best to assist the villagers.

Narola Anichari, Senior Technical Officer Home Science at NU Lumami demonstrated and trained the villagers on how to make banana chips and pickles. 

Speaking to The Morung Express, Holotoli K. Achumi, President and Helito Aomi, Finance Secretary of Yezashi Students' Union, shared that the goal of organizing the programme was to help dropout students and villagers become self-reliant. There were 31 participants in total. 

Dr Rakesh also conducted a training session on poultry farming, where he emphasized that poultry farming is a great and simple business, noting that cleaning the poultry house is crucial for maintaining hygiene and ensuring the animals' health. He further highlighted the importance of regenerating resources.

Earlier, Helito Aomi, Finance Secretary, chaired the event with invocation by Hiketo Aye, Pastor of YBC. L Holuto Ayemi, FPO Chairman Zunheboto, introduced the session and the vote of thanks was delivered by Holotoli K Achumi, President of YSU.
