ENWO to host Miss Eastern Nagaland 2018

The Eastern Nagaland Women Organization (ENWO) is all set to organize Miss Eastern Nagaland Beauty Pageant 2018 on November 30 at Tuensang under the theme ‘Every Woman a Queen’ imbibing confidence to step forward.

Informing this through a press conference here today ENWO president Ayong Chang said that three contestants from each six major tribes of Eastern Nagaland will vie for the contest.  

Miss Eastern Nagaland will win a cash prize of Rs. 50,000 while the first and second runner-up will receive Rs 30,000 and Rs 20,000 respectively.  

There will also be ten sub- titles. Ayong said that the beauty pageant is for earmarking and selecting the winner amongst the six major tribes of Eastern Nagaland.  

Formed in 2008, the objective of ENWO is to promote progress and prosperity, social and economic upliftment through participatory approach, justice for women against all forms of discrimination and to uphold and protect the rights and liberty of women in the society.  

She said by organizing this beauty pageant for the six major tribes, we are able to provide the requisite impetus to our objectives of promoting progress and prosperity, social and economic upliftment and promoting equality and guarding against any form of discrimination.  

“This beauty pageant will empower our women to get equal opportunity to represent their talents and skills both at the state and national level.”  

The conduct of such an event also puts forward a motivational and inspirational desire in the younger generation that they too can get opportunity to move forward and have viable career growth opportunities, ENWO president said.  

The panel of judges for Miss Eastern Nagaland 2018 will include Dr Keviletsu Khate Sr Scientist & Head Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Tuensang; Ajit Kumar Verma IAS, SDO(C) Tuensang; Bharat Laxman Markat IPS, SP Tuensang; Temjentula, Asst. Professor, Sao Chang College, Tuensang; and Major Madhvi Sharma, Staff officer HQ 7 sector Assam Rifles.  

Alesia Raut, model, VJ and a fashion choreographer will be official ramp walk trainer and show curator while Siddhaanth Surryavanshi, actor will be the host.
