Kitoho S Rotokha, the NDPP candidate from 5 Ghaspani-II Assembly Constituency, addressed an election campaign rally at Old Showuba on February 15, ahead of the scheduled elections on February 27. At the rally, Rotokha sought the 'conscience vote' of the people, pointing to a perceived lack of basic infrastructure and other human needs in the Kuhuboto block.

According to Rotokha, there was not a single higher secondary school in the Kuhuboto block, which comprises 10 villages, in all these years. He criticized his opponents, who he claimed were making tall promises without any intention of fulfilling them. As for him, he claimed that he has been with the people and would always stand with them, regardless of the election results.

Rotokha also expressed his disapproval of one of his opponents, who he alleged of making an audacious claim of buying the Kuhuboto electorate. He questioned whether the people were commodities to be traded for money and urged them to vote with their conscience, rather than sell their votes.

While admitting that he cannot produce a magic wand to bring change overnight in Kuhuboto and the constituency as a whole, he promised to work tirelessly towards bringing about positive changes in the area.

He further claimed that he was going "neck to neck" in the electoral race with the incumbent legislator Zhaleo Rio, while making no mention of Kasheto Yepthomi (RPI-A), the third candidate in the fray. He expressed confidence that the mood of the people was for change and not money, and the more his opponents condemned him, the stronger his position would become.

He also revealed that he had served the JD (U) party for the last 5 years but had been backstabbed by the state president. As result, he joined the LJP (Ram Vilas) party, which is an ally of the BJP. Based on this equation, he said that the LJP has not pitted any candidate where the BJP is contesting.

Rotokha further urged the people to remember to vote for him in the upcoming elections and expressed optimism that his residence would witness a victory feast on the day of the results on March 2. He promised to work tirelessly for the betterment of Kuhuboto if elected.
