Dimapur, September 20 (MExN): With regard to the news item ‘NPF expels two’ which was published on September 20, the two “expelled” NPF officials, Kedokhotuo Seyie and Visakholie R Kuotsu have clarified that they both had voluntarily resigned from their respective positions – president NPF, 5 Ghaspani II A/C and president NPF youth wing, 5 Ghaspani II A/C – on September 17. “However, it had come to us as a shock when we were unceremoniously given an expulsion notice on September 18, 2017 on allegation of resorting to ‘anti-party activities’ and posing a ‘direct challenge’ to the party,” the two stated in a clarification note.
“…just when we want to quietly and voluntarily tender our resignation to pave way for other capable leaders to lead the party through the coming elections, we were dumbfounded when we were slapped with an expulsion notice. We fail to see the logic behind an expulsion order when the occupant had already gone,” it added.
Meanwhile, the two maintained that they had neither known nor done any other activities apart from pro-NPF party activities. “We had also neither consciously infringed upon any act of the party’s constitution that would necessitate our expulsion…if our resignation from the party amounts to ‘anti party activity’ or a ‘direct challenge’ to the party and its constitution warranting our expulsion, we wonder what an actual anti-party activity would have incurred,” the note stated. Hence, they asserted, “our expulsion order is just so out of place and totally unnecessary.”
