
Dimapur, May 27 (MExN): The recent surge of crime, from bloodshed to wanton intimidation and rape, in the state is denounced by the joint coordination committee comprising of the ENPO, the Sumi Hoho, Kuki Ingpi and the Kachari Tribal Council. The committee informed to have met on May 27 in Dimapur to deliberate over the surge in crime in the recent times. “When every Naga people are yearning for unity, reconciliation and peace to prevail among he Naga family, it is high time for all the authorities of the warring factions to realize the hard realities and therefore urge upon all concern to shun the path of violence in the larger interest of unity, reconciliation and peace,” a message from the committee stated. The district administration and law enforcing authorities are urged to be “more vigilant and effective in discharging their duties.” The chairman of the Ceasefire Monitoring Cell and the Ceasefire Supervisory Board as well as state government agencies are urged to implement the ceasefire ground rules to contain the law and order situation.
