SEPTEMBER 08 (IANS): The latest guest on Arbaaz Khan’s chat show, Pinch season 2, Farhan Akhtar was seen addressing trolls quite interestingly. He not only addressed several mean criticisms on the show but also took up a challenge to compose a poetry on spot, for which he felt he will be disowned by his family.
The actor-filmmaker was mocked for his hoarse voice and was called a “flop hero”. However, Farhan with his apt answers made the show interesting. Farhan also revealed that he gets requests to bring in Don 3.
Replying to a troll asking him to come out of his “Rock On mode” and give up singing, Farhan said, “It’s like telling Jaggu dada to come out of his ‘Bhidu’ mode, you can’t tell him to do that, that’s who he is.”
He further said, “Be it the songs of Rock On, Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara, Atrangi Yaari, which I got to do with Mr (Amitabh) Bachchan, all the songs have done well. But, of course, I totally understand one thing, which is that it is not a conventional playback singer’s voice.”
Arbaaz read out a comment that read, "Bhai Kahaan ho aajkal? Tumhari phati hui awaaz nahi sunai kayi dino se (Where are you these days? It's been long since we heard your hoarse voice)." Farhan laugh it off, and said, "Yeh bhi bardasht kar lenge (Will tolerate this as well)." He also said that he sings only when he feels that it will lend a “believability” to his performance. “I absolutely enjoy it, I am not apologetic about it at all.”
Meanwhile, on the work front, Farhan Akhtar was recently seen in Toofan, which released on an OTT platform. He will soon don the director's hat with Priyanka Chopra, Katrina Kaif and Alia Bhatt-starrer Jee Le Zaraa. The film will release in 2023.
