Mokokchung, August 24 (MExN): One day orientation training for Field Extension Officers (Vets & Para Vets) in Mokokchung district was held on August 22 at DPRO conference hall. The programme was jointly organized by the Chief Veterinary & AH Office Mokokchung and Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK) Mokokchung. The program was chaired by Mr. Samuel Sangtem SMS (Agronomy) KVK Mokokchung.
The welcome address and programme highlights was given by Dr. B M Sunep CVO Mokokchung. The technical sessions were presented by Dr. Rongsen SMS (Animal Science) KVK Mokokchung, Dr. S Mangyang FM, SCBF Aliba and Dr Aoyimsen VAS Mokokchung. They spoke on the advances of antibiotics and vaccines in livestock health care system, the importance of vaccines for animal health protection and field practices & recommendations for improvement in Mokokchung context.
During the session a special emphasis was made on Peste Des Petits ruminants (PPR) which is an emerging disease in goats in the district. Altogether 42 participants attended the programs.
