Wokha, November 16 (MExN): The Nagaland Industrial Development Corporation Ltd. in collaboration with Industries & Commerce Department, Government of Nagaland under NSSH scheme of Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME), Government of India, organized one-day SC-ST Conclave in Wokha district on November 13 at Don Bosco School Youth Centre with Deputy Commissioner, Wokha, Orenthung Lotha as the special guest.
As per DIPR report, Wokha DC while addressing the programme lauded the organizers in sensitizing the entrepreneurs about the benefits of the schemes and policies and urged the people to avail the opportunity. DC at the same time appealed to give their best for the successful implementation of the programme, and further appealed to give in-depth seminars and awareness programme.
In the process of implementing the programme, the DC also requested the government officials to deliver good governance and transparency and provide them due benefit and share as per the laid down guidelines in the process of selecting and recommending names of beneficiaries to the Banks for assistance.
Banks were also encouraged to help the beneficiaries on time. Further if loans were not received on time, he urged the beneficiaries to inform the authorities so that meeting can be conducted and proper direction will be given to help the beneficiaries.
Managing Director, NIDC Ltd Dimapur, CM Lotha, while giving the key note address, said SC-ST Hub was introduced in the year 2016 which is being operated through National Small Industries Corporation, a government undertaking, and through various State Industrial Development Corporation and other State Public Sectors undertakings in all states and Union Territories.
Now that Nagaland Industrial Development Corporation is being nominated by the Central Government to be the implementing agency, the department has initiated many programme for the benefit of the small entrepreneurs and the Wokha conclave is the fifth district level conclave in the state, the remaining district will be conducted very shortly, he said.
CM Lotha also said the basic objective is to disseminate information about the schemes and policies of the MSME to the SC-ST entrepreneurs with special reference to Central Government Policies. Government of India is intensifying its effort to meet the objective of the Hub and several special schemes have also been earmarked for SC-ST Enterprises, however, in order to accelerate and provide the necessary impetus, it is imperative to put in a collaborative effort with State Government/Union territories.
