Kohima, September 5 (MExN): An awareness programme for financial literacy-cum-outreach programme under Beti Bachao Beti Padhao (BBBP) was organized by District Administration and District Level Centre for Women, Mahila Shakti Kendra Phek in collaboration with the SBI, NSCB & Postal Services on September 4.


Altogether, 450 participants took part in the programme and the target group includes Village Level Organisations (VLO) of Phek Block, Local Entrepreneurs and Educated Unemployed Youths under Phek Town, Town Ward Chairmen & members, Phek Government College fraternity and students.


Sachin Jaiswal, Deputy Commissioner, Phek in his keynote address highlighted the importance of availing government schemes and services provided under different Bank institutions.


I Temjen Changkiri,  Branch Manager, SBI Phek, spoke on various available services like Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana, Life insurance scheme etc. He also mentioned the basic necessities of how to open Bank account. Rohit Kumar, Asst. Branch Manager SBI spoke on Digital Banking.


Khopenthung Jami, Asst. Branch Manager, Nagaland State Cooperative Bank spoke on how to avail different services provided under Nagaland State Cooperative Bank.


Wetshozou Mero, Post Master, Phek Nagaland, highlighted various services under Postal Services, such as India Post Payment Bank, Janani Suraksha Yojana and Sukanya Samriddhi Yojana.


Veposelu Naroh, District Coordinator, DLCW, Mahila Shakti Kendra  spoke on the Role of District Level Centre for Women, Mahila Shakti Kendra.


Earlier, greeting was shared by Dr.Vizovol Mekro, Principal, Phek Government College. The programme was chaired by Vilenuo Kapu, Women Welfare Officer, DLCW MSK Phek. It concluded with distribution of IEC materials.
