
DIMAPUR, JANUARY 6 (MExN): An FIR has been filed against the General Manager and Project Manager of Anusha Project Pvt Ltd, New Village, Wokha at the Wokha Police Station for allegedly “stealing property and damaging land” in the name of development.
The FIR was filed by former Chairman of the Wokha Village Council, Zuchanbemo Lotha and called for the arrest of the two mentioned officials within 2 days.
The FIR alleged that stones and boulders from the excavated area/land were taken away for nearly 4 months “without payment.”
“We the family of the land affected area had patiently waited for negotiation and amicable solution for nearly seven to eight months yet the said company failed to comply and turned a deaf ear,” it added.
It further informed that through the office of the Deputy Commissioner Wokha, a letter for settlement before legal action was dispatched on October 28, 2021 to the General Manager, Anusha Project Private Ltd, Camp New Wokha Village.”
However, the FIR informed that there was “negative response” from the official.
“This company under the name of development has drained and has been stealing our property and damaging our land areas,” it stated. It further accused the company of encroaching and occupying private land area at their base camp, New Wokha Village.
“Under any circumstances or conditions they must not be released or bailed out from jail until an amount of payment is cleared for the stones and damaged land area is compensated adequately to our family,” it added.
It further said that during this period “we will not allow the company to function any kind of activities from our land/area (by the Anusha Base Camp, New Wokha Village) until the issue is settled.”
