Fire engulfs one house in Dimapur

In an unforeseen incident, a house was completely devastated by fire, reportedly owing due to a short circuit, that took place on the evening of Tuesday at Lengrijan colony, Dimapur. 

The house was a kacha house, with a family of 8 members, all non-Nagas, living inside it. 

According to one of the victims, it was revealed that they were living in a rented property at the time of the fire incident. The victim also disclosed that they could not save most of their belongings on time, expect for a few kitchen utensils as the fire had completely engulfed the house.  

Eye-witnesses also mentioned that the fire broke out around 6:45-6:50 PM with fire-fighters rushing to the scene at around 7:10 PM. 

On contacting one of the officials at the West fire station Dimapur, he revealed that in total, four fire trucks, with 20 personnel came to the location after responding to a call at around 6:52 PM. He further shared that the fire broke out in one corner of the house but couldn’t identify the exact cause of the fire. It was also suggested that the wind might have helped spread the fire to the entire house. 

Besides that, the official admitted that their movement was obstructed in the beginning by cars parked on both sides of the road outside their fire station which might have delayed them.
