First ever IVF Triplet in Nagaland

The first In Vitro Fertilization (Test tube baby) was delivered today to Ranjana (24 yrs) wife of one businessman, Shaekar through Lower Segment Caesarean Section, at Faith Hospital, Dimapur which is the lone hospital with the facility in Nagaland.

Speaking on the special case, Medical Superintendent, Civil Hospital, Sukhato Wotsa, under whose dexterous guidance the delivery was done and who is also proprietor of Faith Hospital said, despite high risk pregnancy, it was monitored well and delivered through Caesarean. Prior to this triplet birth, the first single IVF baby was delivered and this is the second case of IVF birth in Nagaland but the first case of triplet birth with one female and two male. The apgar score was nine by ten weighing 1.4,1.4 and 1.5 kilograms respectively  and the doctor added that there are still more like-cases on the line. 

The first baby (Female) was delivered at 6:46 am. and other two were born during the succeeding minutes. He further said that the babies are healthy, active and are doing well. The doctor further advised others to go through treatment if no sign of conceiving is shown even after eighteen months of marriage.
