Fit India Movement launched in Nagaland

Kohima, August 29 (MExN): Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched a nationwide campaign, Fit India Movement at the Indira Gandhi stadium, New Delhi on August 29 to celebrate the National Sports Day. The day is also the birthday anniversary of Sportsman, Major Dhyan Chand who has amazed the world with his fitness, Stamina and Hockey Stick.


    
Mon: The event was live telecast on Doordashan across India and a fitness pledge was taken in all urban local bodies. The event was live telecasted at the Mon Town Council Office, Conference Hall at 10:00 am. ADC Mon and Administrator, Mon Town Council, Hiazu Meru and all eleven ward presidents of Mon Town attended the event. This is the first time a fitness movement is being launched. The campaign is aimed at encouraging people to inculcate physical activity and sports in their day to day life. 


LONGLENG: Longleng district joined the launching programme of the Fit India Movement at NIC hall Deputy Commissioner Office Longleng. The programme was attended by District Administration officials and staffs, GBs, Town council and all Departments of Longleng district. It was also organised in all schools, wards and college. All the participants undertook the fitness pledge that was administered.

 

DGC: Dimapur Government College (DGC), led by Principal Kavili Jakhalu, observed the FIT India Movement launched by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi on August 29 at the college auditorium. Altogether around 800 students, 50 faculty members and 15 non-teaching staff attended the programme. This was informed in a press release issued by Publicity & Media Cell, DGC.

 

MGM College: MGM College, Dimapur joined the nation in watching the live streaming of Fit India Movement to mark the National Sports Day at the College premises.  

 

MGM HSS: MGM Hr Sec School, Dimapur joined the live streaming of Fit India Movement. The principal Dr. Rev. Fr PS Varghese addressed the students and teachers in the assembly and highlighted the objectives and aims of ‘Fit India Movement’ 

 

Mokokchung: District Health society, Mokokchung observed Fit India Movement at IDSP Conference Hall IMDH, Mokokchung. A press release from the DPMU, CMO Office stated that a brief programme was held where Dr Ayangla Saku DPO (UIP &RCH) highlighted on fit India Movement. The fitness pledge reading was done by Dr R Chubala Aier CMO. The programme was chaired by Dr Kibangkumba Dy CMO, while vote of thanks was delivered by Dr Medemmayang Medical Superintendent.
