Medziphema, May 23 (MExN): Community Health Centre, Medziphema in association with Global Research Institute University of LEEDS undertook a major initiative of organising a free Gasless Laparoscopic surgery at Community Health Centre Medziphema for three days from May 20 - 22.
According to a DIPR report, more than 200 patients underwent checkup and 20 operations were carried out. This free surgical camp witnessed patients from neighbouring areas and across the state like Kohima, Tseminyu, Pughoboto, Jalukie, Zunheboto and Tizit.
The Global Health Research Group also donated free machine - Gas Insufflation Less Laparoscopic Surgery (GILLS) to the Community Health Centre Medziphema.
Doctors from across the globe who assist the surgical camp included Prof. Dr. Sukumar Maiti HOD of Surgery, Kolkata Medical College (KMC), Asso. Prof. Dr.Manas Dutta , Kolkata Medical College (KMC), Dr. J. Gnanaraj University of LEEDS, UK project India, Dr. Noel Aruparayil University of LEEDS,UK, Dr. Ellen Elizabeth University of LEEDS, UK, Dr. Lovenish Bains, Consultant MAMC, Delhi, Dr. N.Sezo SMO Medziphema, Dr. Manan Dutta, Consultant Surgeon New Delhi and Dr. Botoho CHC Medziphema. Volunteers from Dimapur Hospital both doctors and nurses aided the free surgical camp.
