JALUKIE, APRIL 2 (MExN): A one day licensing and registration camp under the aegis of the Food Safety Administration, Department of Health & Family Welfare in co-ordination with the Administration and Traders Union, Jalukie was conducted at Jalukie main town on March 31 by the Food Safety Administration Dimapur zone. 

The camp was aimed to create awareness on the online FSSAI licensing and registration system to the food business operators. 
Keynote address was given by Kiusumong Tikhir, Additional Deputy Commissioner, Jalukie. He emphasized on the importance of food safety and informed the FBOs of their roles, to adhere to the Act and Rules, and to obtain license and registration. 

Samuel Zehol, Designated Officer, Food Safety, Dimapur spoke on the basic concepts of food safety. He also talked on the hierarchy of Food safety Administration in Nagaland, the initiatives under FSSAI umbrella and activities undertaken in general.  Kezhangulie Yimchunger, Food Safety Officer spoke on the role and compliance of the FBOs, labeling information of manufacturers and home based FBOs, fee structure of FSSAI license and registration, and importance of obtaining cash memos from the purchaser for evidence.

The program was chaired by Samlamgwamlie Michui, Food Safety Officer, Peren. The FBOs were given IEC materials, Medical Fitness Certificate format and labelling information checklist.
