GHADC poll a test for government: Conrad Sangma

Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma on Sunday said the elections to the Garo Hills Autonomous District Council (GHADC) is a test for the National People's Party-led MDA government.

Addressing an election rally held at Phulbari, Sangma said that "The ensuing election is a test for the government, whether it has been able to meet the expectations of the people and the promises made in 2018 general election."

He said that the GHADC election is very important as people are getting the opportunity to give their feedback on the performance of the ruling govt.

The Chief Minister also told the gathering that the NPP led government had managed to restore peace in Garo Hills, which had enabled the government to consistently work for inclusive growth and development in the state.

Massive crowd turn-out was witnessed at Phulbari at an election rally for GHADC which was attended by CM and national President Conrad K Sangma.

Late Manirul Islam Sarkar, former Meghalaya cabinet minister’s son Tarif Ibrahim Sarkar is contesting from Shyamnagar GHADC constituency.
