GHS Akuk new building inaugurated

Wokha, March 17 (MExN): The new building of Government High School, Akuk village under Bhandari, Wokha district was inaugurated by Mmhonlumo Kikon, Advisor Information Technology & Communication, Science & Technology and New & Renewable Energy on March 10. It was funded by Samagra Shiksha Abhiyan under the Department of School Education (DoSE), Government of Nagaland.

The Akuk Village Council in a press release stated that during the inaugural, the Advisor encouraged the students and parents to avail and utilize the best facilities provided by the government for development of human resources. He also apprised the teachers to be more sincere in their duties to bring good result in the students’ academic studies.

Wonthungo Tsopoe, Director, DoSE said that the GHS Akuk school building is the best building in Wokha district he had ever seen. Although the school infrastructure is now complete the real testimony now lies in conducting regular schooling, improving the quality of education and increasing the number of students in the community school, so that the future of all children is secured. 

The dedicatory prayer was said by Renben J Ovung, Pastor, Akuk Baptist Church. Mhathung Odyuo, village chairman in his speech appreciated the Firm Ensign Constructions for timely completion of the building. Santsu Kithan, District Agriculture Officer, Wokha, stressed on importance of unity and cooperation with the government for various developments in the rural areas. The programme ended with benediction by Mathew Humtsoe, Catechist, St John Church, Akuk.
