GHS & GHSS headmasters in Nagaland attend training

Kohima, April 8 (MExN): A five-day capacity building programme for headmasters of GHS and GHSS in Nagaland was organized by State Institute of Educational Management and Training (SIEMAT), SCERT, Nagaland, from March 29 to April 2.  

SCERT Director Khrietuo Mezhur in a press release stated that this is the first of its kind after the SIEMAT building was inaugurated by Yitachu, Minister, SCERT & DSE earlier in March.

 At the valedictory programme, the chief guest, Pollen Tep, Additional Director, Department of School Education, exhorted the participants to be sincere and committed in their duties and encouraged them to have positive attitude and enthusiasm. He informed that the Directorate of School Education is in the process of rationalising the posting of teachers and the austerity measures. Further, he elaborated on the various problems posed by the participants in terms of shortage of teachers, administrative lapses of the department, why only some HMs are given DDO power, confusion of VEC and SMC etc.  

During the introductory programme, Khrietuo Mezhur, Director, SCERT, exhorted the participants to be dutiful and encouraged the Headmasters to discharge their duties efficiently as they are agent of change in the system. He further exhorted them to be role models and review the system.  

Mego Iralu, Addl. Director, SCERT briefly highlighted the objective of setting up SIEMAT in the State and various other programmes that will come up under the institute. The resource rersons of the programme were G. Kevishe Phucho, Additional Secretary to the Government of Nagaland, Khinyi Woch, Financial Advisor, MGNERGA, Mego Iralu, Addl. Director, NC Kikon, SAO, Shilu Amer, SAO, Thungchibemo, Reader and Thebi Joseph, Research Associate, SCERT.
