GHS Toluvi conducts annual sports meet

DIMAPUR, MARCH 20 (MExN): The Government High School, Toluvi held its annual sports week from March 15 to 17. The sports week started with an inaugural program which was held at Toluvi village ground. 

The program was chaired by Nitolimi of Class X. Welcome address was delivered by Lucy Chophy of Class IX. The senior students presented a special number “Love lifted me”. 

Atoli spoke on behalf of teachers and encouraged the students to maintain discipline and game spirit as they participate in the annual sports week. The students were divided into four houses and the team captains took an oath to participate in the games and sports in true sportsmanship. Prayer of blessings was pronounced by Vino. 

It was a three day activity with an introduction of indigenous games like spear kicking and women traditional jumping (Puxa Kuxu). Mental ability games like sum race and obstacle race was also played to enable the students develop their mental ability to compete with others. 

The annual day ended with a prize distribution followed by a grand feast for all the students and teachers. Green house emerged as champions and yellow house was adjudged as the best disciplined house.
