GHSS Zuketsa locked down for 4th time

Phek, August 23 (MExN): Government High School, Zuketsa under SDEO Pfutsero have being locked down for the fourth time by the land owners due to the failure of the School Education department to adhere by the resolution of land owners, supported by Leshemi, Lasumi and Zapami villages and Zuketsa Area Public Organization (ZAPO).  

In this regard, ZAPO along with Village Council Chairman and colleagues and Head GBs of Leshemi, Lasumi and Zapami villages met the Principal Director of School Education and submitted a representation on August 22.  

ZAPO General Secretary Rite Khutso in a press release stated that the representation was counter singed by Ngupelo Therie, President ZAPO, Wezhiepe Sara, Leshemi Village Council Chairman, Lonyichu Pradia, Lasumi Village Council Chairman and Zewekha Wetsah, Zapami Village Council chairman on behalf of the entire area people.  

In a representation, the area leaders also expressed their displeasure over the way the Department is suppressing the voice of the people and denying the right of the landowners, which subsequently, affect the career of hundreds of students. The ZAPO also warned the Department that any untoward incident(s) arising out of this issue will be solely held responsible by the Department.  

The Organization also appealed the Government to review the Committee decision taken by the Directorate of School Education headed by Principal Director in order to bring an amicable solution and to further avoid any problems in the future.
