Phezoucha Rhüba, Kohima launched Digital House Numbering at a function held at BEITS Plaza, Kohima on May 24.
Gracing the launching programme, Kohima Additional Deputy Commissioner Ruopfükuotuo Noudi said that Phezoucha is one of the fastest growing Rhüba/colony in Kohima. He congratulated Phezoucha Rhüba for introduction of the digital house numbering system, which he said, will go a long way in ensuring better habitation and also assist the government in census work
Noudi was optimistic that the exercise will benefit the residents in many ways and take them in the right direction.
Ayie Yhome, Chairman Lhisemia Council maintained that the digital house numbering system will be very helpful for Lhisemia khel and Kohima village as well. “We have to be accommodative. We have to learn to live together with others in harmony,” he told the residents of Phezoucha Rhüba. “However, we don't endorse illegal immigrants in the Rhüba,” he added.
Digital house numbering convenor Dr Ketshukietuo Dzüvichü informed that digital house numbering is a system where each house or property is assigned a unique digital identifier, often a number displayed on a physical plate, for easier identification and location.
This system will facilitate various services like mail & parcel delivery and emergency services.
The Committee is using Geographic Information System (GIS) survey to implement this digital house numbering at Phezoucha Rhüba.
For 7-8 years year, we had been dreaming and planning to come out with this digital house numbering and today we manage to reach this milestone, Dzüvichü said and adding that it was made possible through the concerted effort given by Phezoucha Rhüba president by Kekhrielelie Tseikha and his colleagues and co-convenor Petevilie Khatsü who had brought his expertise to guide and implement this digital house numbering.
Petevilie Khatsü said that the aim of digital house numbering is to ensure effective management and fostering a safe & secure living environment.
Khatsü said that the system will ease of Management of the Colony, create a Dynamic Database of all Houses, Geotag with a Unique Digital ID, Maintain database of every House/Household within the colony, ease of identification of the Houses, Database to contain basic identity of every Household- such as AADHAAR, Contact No., etc - Law & order, Ease of Issuing Residence Certificate, Collection of Sanitation and other utility fees and ease of management for colony council. All Building/House information to upload to Open Source platform - Google map/OSM/others.
At present, Phezoucha Rhüba has an area of 10.31 square kilometres with 6 blocks and 24 sectors. A total of 2345 buildings have been mapped till date.
Earlier, Bendang, pastor New Capital Baptist Church invoked God’s blessings. Vetho Nienu presented special number while vote of thanks was proposed by Kekhrielelie Tseikha, president Phezoucha Rhüba.
