He expressed optimism that everyone left inspired, and challenged the youth to do something reiterating that everyone can influence. He shared that many of the youth were motivated by Bear Grylls’ session, who shared his fears and failures.

Visato Yhoshü, facilitator GLS, informed that the summit began in Willow Creek Community Church in United States in 1992 as a private church program to build leadership and slowly grew to be a global phenomenon it is today.

He maintained that there are 26000 plus people in India itself, with 45 sites in 20 states. He stated that UBC has direct link with the organizers and that everything from the stage setup to the time allocation were all done in accordance with their directives.

He maintained that the video screenings and all materials provided to the participants were all copyrighted.

Yhoshü also informed that after every session, a time for reflection and discussion is held where participants are encouraged to put into practice their learning into action in a seven days’ time span.

Rükhe Theünuo, working at the summit maintained that this year, the summit is specifically for the youth and stated that the ‘turnout’ was better than last year, considering that the summit just catered to a particular group as audience.

“Each of the participants in this summit is a prospective leader and we are very happy to see the number of people, who turned up,” Megozeno Savino, Coordinator maintained.

She stressed that such a summit is very ‘crucial,’ while adding it was worth all the effort and hard work. She informed that before the summit, information and invitations were sent out to all churches, various denominations, social organizations and academic institutions.

Savino informed that a participant came from Kiphire while three came from Mokokchung to be part of the summit.

A participant from Life Connect Nagaland, who did not wish to be named, and works with women, ‘who are alcoholics and domestically violated,’ said that Bohannon’s session proved to be very helpful and touched on areas, where she has personally undergone and maintained that the summit proved to be ‘very helpful.’

Registrations recorded a total of 250 attendees representing various churches, schools and institutions.

It may be mentioned here that, UBC was awarded the “Best Site for Excellence in Facilitation” in 2017, at the main Summit in Willow Creek, Illinois, USA.

This is the sixth time the event is held in UBC and has now become an annual event.
