‘Go Between’ for Indo- Naga talks passes away

DIMAPUR, APRIL 6 (MExN): The NSCN (IM) has expressed sadness at the passing away of Grinder Muivah in New Delhi today due to heart failure. He was 57 years old.

A press note from the MIP of the NSCN (IM) informed that in 1995, the Government of India proposed Grinder Muivah’s name to be a “Go between” for the Indo-Naga political dialogue to which the NSCN agreed.

He was born in Somdal Village of Ukhrul district to a family whose contribution to the cause of Naga nation is “undeniably immense.” He is survived by his wife, three sons and a daughter.   “

He has been passionately engaged in between the two parties in order to arrive to a logical conclusion to the Indo-Naga political imbroglio. It is hard to accept the fact that he is no more with us at this crucial juncture when his presence is ever more needed. With his demise a vacuum to the political process is being created which will be difficult to fill,” the NSCN (IM) stated.

“NSCN with immense love and gratitude salute the departed soul for the great contribution rendered to the Naga nation. He will always be fondly remembered. We pray that the departed soul will rest in eternal peace and that the Almighty God will provide abundant love, kindness and give comfort to the grieving family at this time of sorrow,” it added.
