Newmai News Network Imphal | May 1 The Government of Manipur today launched ‘Go to Village’ mission across the State coinciding with the May Day. The mission was launched simultaneously in 60 villages in all 60 constituencies. Launching the programme, Manipur Chief Minister Biren Singh said that ‘human oriented politics’ is the foremost principle of the present government, and the government is committed to deliver good governance and to bring inclusive development in the State. The Chief Minister then said that politicians should refrain from doing politics that affects the lives of the people. “We shouldn’t give sufferings and pains to the people of the State,” he said. “The government doesn’t belong to any political party; it belongs to the people and is for the people.” Stressing that the government endorses the Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ‘Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas’ collective effort towards inclusive growth, the Chief Minister stated the government believes in treating everyone fairly and equally to bring inclusive development in the State. The mission “Go to Village”, he said, was evolved through a series of discussions and meetings with bureaucrats and HODs of various departments. Stating that the present government will work for the welfare of the people, the Chief Minister mentioned that the government would extend every possible help to uplift the lives of the people. He further said that such mission would create an opportunity to build a bright future of the people of the State. Under the new mission, the government will identify the eligible and deserving beneficiaries and deliver government services at their doorstep. He mentioned that a review meeting will be held next week with all the officials to assess the requirements and data collected from the camps. He mentioned that there are 2515 census villages in the State and the data collection of the requirements of such village would be completed in 11 months. He appealed to the people of the State to come forward and gain the benefits being provided under the mission. Secretaries, Commissioners, Principal Secretaries and Additional Chief Secretaries have been relieved from normal file works and are entrusted to concentrate mainly on policy formulation and execution of such kind of initiatives. While mentioning about the alarming rise of stone cases and cancer among the people of the State, the Chief Minister announced that the government would set up a dedicated Cancer hospital and a General Hospital to cope with such health problems soon. A high end laboratory would be established to examine the causes of such health problems, he added.
