'Go to Village' mission reaches far-flung Manipur

Newmai News Network Tamenglong | May 15   The State Government of Manipur ‘Go to Village” mission has reached one of the farthest villages (from the state capital) of Manipur today. The mission was launched today at Phaitol village in Tamei assembly constituency of Tamenglong district.   On the day 82 households (beneficiaries) of Phaitol village were given gas cylinders and stoves under the Social Welfare scheme Pradhan Mantri Ujjawala Yojna. N. Awangbou, MLA of Tamei assembly constituency distributed the materials to the beneficiaries as he attended the programme as chief guest. Blankets, cotton seeds and ST certificates were also distributed to the villagers of Phaitol and nearby village. Under the Social Welfare department, beneficiary forms of schemes for old age people, widows and blind people were also distributed.   Dr Chambo, Chief Medical Officer, Tamenglong did a spot verification of differently abled persons and distributed a certificates at the program. Departments such as Fisheries, Agriculture and Horticulture also interacted with the villagers and distributed beneficiary form to the people.   Deputy Commissioner, Tamenglong , Amstrong Pame IAS, ADC Magulong segment Ramningle, ADC Saramba segment Micah Panmei, ADC Tousem segment T.P Sangzeu, ADC Khunphung segment Liangpibou, ADC Phaitol segment Harling and all the DLOs of different Government Departments also attended the program. All together 22 different Government departments and nearly 1000 people participated in the programme.   Also on May 8, in the second phase of 'Go to Village' held at Oinamlong village, Tamei MLA Awongbou Newmai also distributed gas cylinders, red blankets, wool yarn, medicines, electronic materials, cabbage seeds, woollen seeds, and school books from the various government departments. Aadhaar enrollment was also conducted for 12 (twelve) villages on that day.
