Aghünaqa, June 28 (MExN): The Aghünaqa Area Students’ Union (AASU) has reported that many government schools under the Aghünaqa block are functioning with inadequate facilities and managing without the main subject teacher.

This was highlighted in a press statement issued by AASU, president, Ikato Khulu following the education tour which was undertaken with the theme ‘for a progressive development’ from June 22 to 27. The AASU team led by its president and colleagues visited all the 37 villages under Aghünaqa block.

It stated that the main purpose for the tour was to ascertain the overall development and infrastructure of the government schools in every village, to curb proxy culture within its jurisdiction and ensure that every single student enrolled are provided quality education. The team also aimed to inspect the availability of teaching faculties in the schools.

However, it was found that many school infrastructures were not in its “former” state and were either damaged or worn-out since the buildings were constructed decades back.

Expressing great concern, AASU said that government should look into the matter and provide the requirements needed in every school at the earliest and ensure that the student’s learning process is not hampered. The union cautioned that the ‘matters would soon become considerably worse, if the government delay its response’ and also it will ‘subsequently jeopardize the student’s future.’

Further, AASU president stated that the union will shortly write “a letter of memorandum to the concerned department for necessary action and keep a close watch on the situation to check and balance the outcome.”
