Governor donates one lakh to Government Hindi Institute for establishment of awards

Dimapur, September 19 (MExN): The Governor of Nagaland PB Acharya has donated a sum of rupees One Lakh to the Government Hindi Institute, Dimapur for establishment of awards for merit students.  

Governor Acharya announced this while interacting with the Principal and Officials from the only Government Hindi Institute in the State at Raj Bhavan on September 19.  

PRO to Governor in a press release stated that Acharya appreciated the teachers and officials of the institute for imparting training to pre-service indigenous Naga candidates for Hindi teaching. He opined that all languages were equal and stated, “our mother tongue is our identity and we should respect all languages. He congratulated the Institute and encouraged the teachers to continue working towards linking the people of the Country through the National language.” Governor Acharya also acknowledged the keen interest taken by the Nagas in learning the language.  

Principal Government Hindi Institute, Gulab Chandra informed the Governor that the Institute was established in 1968 and is all set to celebrate its Golden Jubilee in the month of November this year. He also stated that the staffing pattern is managed by the Department of School Education, Nagaland while its curriculum was affiliated with Central Institute of Hindi Agra since its inception.  

Highlighting on the infrastructure, the Principal stated that the Institute urgently needed a proper building with class rooms, office and toilets as the present building was in a very bad shape and requested the Governor to extend support towards construction of a new building for the Institute. Governor Acharya assured to forward the matter to the concern authority.
