Governor inaugurates Ametchong village

Calls on villagers to work hard and be self sufficient

Longleng, December 19 (DIPR): The Governor of Nagaland, PB Acharya inaugurated Ametchong village under Longleng district on December 18.  

Addressing the gathering, the Governor called on the settlers of Ametchong to work hard and be self sufficient. “Nagaland is bestowed with rich natural resources and talented manpower and has the potential to become a very rich State,” he stated and encouraged the villagers to march toward development and new vision.  

Acharya further maintained that the Look East Policy of the Central Government has much to offer to the North Eastern States and the State should be ready to avail the opportunities that come along with it to grow at par with the rest of the country.  

Meanwhile, he urged the youth to take up skill development degrees and courses. Asserting that attitude of job seekers should change to job givers, the Governor said, with such mindset, Nagaland will change for the better.  

A brief report on Ametchong village was given by Adhoc Chairman, Ametchong Adhoc Village Council, B Kengshing, while L Shaupen Phom delivered the welcome address. Short speeches were also given by DC Longleng, John Tsulise Sangtem, Ex Minister, B Pongshak Phom and others. Ametchong Students’ Union also presented a special song on the occasion. The vote of thanks was proposed by Deputy Secretary, Government of Nagaland, B Henok Buchem.
