
Dimapur, Dec 5 (MExN): The Nagaland Contractors & Suppliers Union has called off its proposed agitation in the form of vehicle procession scheduled for December 6, having received the State Government’s assurances to release pending liabilities due to the union. An NCSU release from its executive also informed that there will be an emergency general meeting on the same day earlier scheduled for the procession, at the NCSU conference hall from 10 am.
The matter was discussed with the Chief Minister and Minister for Works & Housing in the CM’s office chamber evening. As per discussions, it was decided that a total amount of Rs 10 crores would be released as to clear the liabilities strictly according to the final DLVC list. Out of this, Rs 4 crores would be for the general liabilities. This amount would be released before the Christmas holidays, 2006, Mhathung Kithan, IAS, Commissioner & Secretary to the Government of Nagaland, stated in an official letter to the president of the NCSU.
