Kohima, September 1 (MExN): Speaking at the cultural day of Government Primary School, D-Block Kohima, Minister for Roads and Bridges, Dr. Neikesalie Nicky Kire who is also advisor of DPDB D-Block Ward Adoption Committee urged teachers and parents to have better coordination to impart quality education so that students could compete with the changing world.
He urged residents of the colony to extend support to school managing authority and faculty members to create conducive teaching atmosphere for the students.
The Minister while lauding the efforts of teachers of the school, said teachers are the builders of future generation and that they should see that students are moulded according to their talents. He encouraged the teachers to identify and encourage students according to their talents. To encourage students in their studies, the Minister also announced a cash prize for toppers from Class-A-IV. He also announced for extension of classrooms to meet the growing number of students. Also to look into the demand for construction of footpath as the narrow road leading to the school is in a pathetic condition.
School Managing Chairman, Robert Wazeh in his short speech urged residents to support the school managing authority and teachers to uplift the school. He said cultural day was first of its kind in the school and thanked the Ward Adoption Committee for organising the programme. A press release satted that children performed cultural items of different communities like Sumi, Lotha, Angami, Bengali and Konyak which was followed by games and prize distribution. Earlier, invocation prayer was pronounced by Pulesale Rhetso, Bible reading by Kiumo Longkumer of Class-IV and welcome song by Class-III students.
Members of Ward Adoption Committee, Panchayat, Women Organisation, Youth Organisation and parents attended the programme.
