DIMAPUR, FEBRUARY 2 (MExN): Concerned over, what it called, “unscrupulous groups and individuals collecting tax as well seeking donations” in the name of the Angami region, the GPRN/NSCN warned those carrying out these “anti-national” activities.
Neibu Nakhro Angami, chairman, Angami region, GPRN/NSCN today clarified his office never entrusted any individual or group to represent Angami region for collecting regional tax or donations within their jurisdiction.
He expressed concern that the “good image of the GPRN has been tarnished while also causing great hardship to the general public.”
Appropriate punishment shall be meted out to those individuals or group indulging in anti-National activities within Angami Region. All regional matters within Angami region, including taxation allocated to the region, shall be dealt solely from the desk of the regional chairman, GPRN/NSCN, the release informed. “Anybody representing Angami region must have written approval of the chairman, Angami Region,” he added.
