“GPRN/NSCN” condemns Satakha rape

Dimapur, June 6 (MExN): The “GPRN/NSCN” has expressed anguish at the June 5  rape of an 8 year old  girl at Satakha town by one Kakiho Zhimomi, reportedly a civic official, of Kivikhu village. “It is utterly shocking to learn that the perpetrator of the inhuman crime is also the vice-chairman of the ad-hoc town council. Naga society cannot effort to display lackadaisical attitude and lukewarm response against such barbaric actions”, the outfit said in a message from its ‘publicity cell’ today. Stating that ‘unjustifiable crimes’ deserve the harshest of punishments, the group reminded the Naga society not to be held at ransom ‘by rapists and criminals’. The “GPRN/NSCN” had demanded swift punishment to the perpetrator of the crime. “A father, husband or a son who commit merciless crime upon a hapless minor should not seek or expect mercy from any corner,” it stated. While calling for prompt action against the accused, the group also urged “Christian Naga society” to “reason together lest the enemies take advantage of our moral complacency and absence of social conscience”.
